Amber Ear Clips by Niels Erik From | Sterling Silver | Danish Modernist c.1960s
Amber Ear Clips by Niels Erik From | Sterling Silver | Danish Modernist c.1960s
POA
Description
These sculptural sterling silver ear clips were designed in the 1960s by Danish silversmith Niels Erik From, a key figure in Scandinavian modernist jewellery.
Each earring features a domed Baltic amber cabochon, warm and luminous, set in a soft, flowing silver frame.
The design is clean and confident, balancing bold form with a calm, natural feel.
From began his career in the 1930s with floral and foliate designs, but by the 1960s had shifted into a modernist style, marked by abstract lines and a stripped-back elegance.
These earrings belong to that later period, where his work gained international recognition for its clarity and craftsmanship.
The silver surrounds curve around the amber like softened geometry - understated, but far from ordinary.
Hallmarked STERLING DENMARK N.E. FROM, they measure approximately 2cm x 1.5cm and are fitted with comfortable clip backs.
This is a well-balanced pair, modern yet timeless, and a quietly distinctive example of mid-century Danish jewellery design.
Available exclusively at ELTONS, Grays Antique Market, Mayfair, London.
