Description
An antique bar brooch in 9ct mixed golds, centred on an open heart in warm rose gold, finely engraved, with a small green-gold leaf suspended inside it. A trefoil clover sits at either side, engraved to match, and the whole is framed by wire scrolls and clusters of tiny gold granules. The yellow bar beneath sweeps up at the tips, and the changes of colour between the golds give the piece its depth and charm.
We have converted the brooch into a necklace, and it hangs from a 16" belcher chain so that it sits neatly at the collarbone. Sentimental, softly coloured jewellery of this kind was a favourite of the late Victorian and Edwardian years, and it wears as lightly today as it did then. Authenticated by us.
