Description
Chinese chrysanthemum famille-rose teapot, Yongzheng (1723-1735), of globular form with straight spout, the foot with bands of moulded overlapping petals, the body decorated in fine overglaze enamels with two shaped panels containing flowering chrysanthemum, against a dense foliate scrolling meander with further chrysanthemum heads on a pink ground, the spout and handle with floral sprays in iron-red, the rim with a narrow band of floral roundels, the lid with moulded petals and a central chrysanthemum flower, surmounted by a bud-shaped finial.
Condition: Chip to rim, fritting and two small chips to inner rim of cover neatly restored
