Description
Chinese double peacock platter, Qianlong (1736-95), of octagonal form with canted corners, decorated in overglaze polychrome enamels in the famille rose palette to the centre with a peacock and peahen perched upon rockwork in a garden setting with flowering peony within a single black line, the rim with a continuous garland of tropical flowers and scrolling foliage.
Dimensions:
Diameter 27.6cm. (10 3/4in.); height: 18.5cm. (7 1/4in.)
Condition:
Broken in half and sealed with rivets.
