Description

Chinese imari jug and basin, late Kangxi (circa 1720), decorated in underglaze cobalt blue, iron-red overglaze enamel and gilt with scrolling peonies, chrysanthemum, lotus and curling foliage within diaper borders set with floral cartouches.

Diameter of basin: 30.5cm. (12 in.); height of jug: 21.4cm. (8 3/8 in.)

Condition: Short hairline to basin, flake to cover of jug.
