Description

Chinese porcelain dish, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated in underglaze cobalt blue to the centre with four fish swimming amongst a dense ground of aquatic plants, with scrolling tendrils and leaves radiating outwards, all within double circle, the cavetto in white reserve and the rim with an assortment of aquatic plants and creatures including a crab and large prawn, amongst foliage and water plants, the reverse with similar decoration to the rim and central six-character apocryphal Xuande mark within double circle to the base.
