Description
Chinese wucai transitional vase and cover, 17th century, brightly decorated with tall mountain peaks against a background of iron-red whorls with auspicious emblems and dotted with prunus flowerheads, the base and shoulders with a peony foliate scroll, below a band of lappets to the neck, the domed cover similarly decorated with pear shape finial; height: 12 ½ in. (31.7 cm.) ; condition: restoration to cover, chips and two hairlines to rim.
