Description
An Edwardian demantoid garnet, pearl, diamond, silver and gold brooch, featuring three bows at the top, joined by a curve, with a geometric and curved garland below, all grain set with old-cut diamonds, with the diamonds in the centre of the bows in rub over settings, decorated with millegrain edges, mounted in silver-upon-gold, with green enamel on gold laurel leaf garlands, terminating with natural pearl drops and topped with tiny emeralds, with a pendant, suspending from the centre bow, with diamond set leaves and an oval faceted demantoid garnet, in a gold rub over setting, with a pin and hinged C catch fitting and loops for a chain, with an Austro-Hungarian mark for imported gold goods of foreign origin and more recent French owl and swan import marks for retailing in France, in fitted burgundy leather case, with gold garland tooling and purple velvet and satin linings, circa 1905.
