Meissen Art Nouveau figure of Chiarina from the Russian Ballet’Carnaval’ based on the piano suite of the same name by Robert Schumann, this model being one of five in the series modelled by Paul Scheurich the famous Meissen modeller of the Art Nouveau period. This series of five Russian dancers were the first and most successful of Scheurichs artworks,circa 1914
