Description
Pair of Chinese famille rose plates, Qianlong (1736-95), decorated to the centres with a rouleau vase on a lacquer stand containing coral, peacock feather and ruyi-head sceptre, surrounded by a bowl of fruit and beribboned babao; the cavettos with scrolling flower heads and four alternating cartouches containing open lozenges and jade stones; the rims with further beribboned babao and precious objects including pairs of books, rhinoceros horns, scrolls and cash coins, all within a narrow band of lattice work in iron-red, the reverse with four small florets.
