Rare Chinese red-overlay yellow glass snuff bottle, Qing dynasty, 19th Century, the elongated body with a cylindrical neck, flat neck and an oval foot ring, the ruby red overlay carved with fruiting branches of pomegranates and peaches applied against a yellow ground, height: 3 in. (7.7 cm.); condition: minute cracking to rim
The combination of red overlay decoration on yellow glass is not common, the yellow ground tone suggests an imperial production, possibly from the first part of the 19th century.
