A superb Victorian Diamond & Sapphire 5 Stone Half Hoop Ring, handcrafted in rich 18ct yellow gold and stamped accordingly. Inside the shank is also the makers marks ‘S.B & S.LD’. Dating to the late nineteenth century, this elegant ring is set with three beautifully matched Victorian brilliant old cut diamonds alternating with two richly coloured unheated Ceylon sapphires, creating one of the most enduring and sought-after designs of the Victorian era. The three diamonds have a combined weight of approximately 1.30 carats and display the soft fire and lively brilliance that only antique hand-cut diamonds possess. The diamonds are H-I in colour and VS2 clarity. Between them sit two vibrant natural sapphires with a combined weight of approximately 1.70 carats, their deep royal blue colour providing a striking contrast against the warm gold mount.
