Description
Lovely Victorian Gold Enamel & Pearl Bangle. A beautifully elegant antique Victorian 15ct gold blue enamel and seed pearl hinged bangle, internally engraved and dated. This refined mid-Victorian bangle is designed with a graceful crossover motif, decorated with rich royal blue enamel and delicate rows of graduating seed pearls. The smooth tubular gold construction gives the piece an understated sophistication, while the vivid enamelwork provides striking contrast against the warm tones of the gold. The bangle opens via a discreet concealed hinge and integrated clasp typical of fine Victorian jewellery craftsmanship. Jewellery of this period often carried symbolic meaning, with blue enamel traditionally associated with loyalty and devotion, and seed pearls representing purity and affection. The engraving inside reads ‘S C E C and Ruthie’ ’24th August 1854′. The inscription adds a wonderful sense of romance and authenticity, preserving the personal history of the piece. Elegant and highly wearable, the bangle sits beautifully on the wrist and transitions effortlessly from daywear to evening styling. It may be worn alone as a refined antique statement piece or layered with contemporary gold jewellery for a more modern aesthetic. The piece weighs 17.5g.
