An exceptional vintage 1930/40’s natural untreated jade and diamond brooch, centred with a beautifully hand-carved plaque of vivid emerald-green jade and fine natural translucency. The jade is intricately carved with traditional floral and foliate motifs, symbols long associated in Chinese culture with prosperity, harmony and longevity. Framed within an elegant diamond-set 18ct white gold mount, the brooch combines refined Eastern craftsmanship with sophisticated Art Deco-inspired Western design. The richly saturated jade displays the highly prized luminous quality. Surrounding the carving are delicately set diamonds arranged in graceful ribbon and scroll motifs, adding brilliance without detracting from the beauty of the jade itself.
