Description
Of slender cylindrical form rising from a wide circular base, with a flattened ridge at the rim and above the foot, finely painted in shades of underglaze blue, the compressed dome of the base decorated with leafy sprays of flowers, the cylindrical body painted in three registers, the upper and lower register painted with further blooms, the middle with a linear diamond pattern, further line work to the raised ridges and foot rim.
Period: Kangxi (1662 - 1722)

The present candlesticks were made to order for the European market. Entirely non- Chinese in concept, they are modelled after 17th/18th century European brass or silver originals.
