Description
Chinese blue and white sauce tureen and cover, Qianlong (1736-95), the base decorated with a lakeside scene with pavilions by the water's edge and figures in boats and with a boar head handle to either side, the gently domed lid with a further watery landscape scene with boatmen on the lake, enclosed by a lambrequin border and surmounted by a moulded knop in the shape of a gnarled branch.
