Description
Pair of Chinese blue and white deep dishes, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated in the centre with profuse fruiting and flowering branches issuing from rockwork amongst insects and birds, the cavetto with ogee shaped panels containing floral sprays against a diaper ground, the rim similarly decorated, the reverse with scrolling flowerheads and ruyi; diameter: 13 7/16 in. (34.2cm.) and one with 2 chips and slight fritting to rim and the other with chip and associated small hairline. Provenance: Collection of Sir Trevor Lawrence (1831-1913), 2nd Baronet, KCVO MRCS.
