Description

Pair of Chinese famille verte square tea caddies, Kangxi (1662-1722), with chamfered edges and standing on four feet, both decorated in overglaze enamels and gilt on two sides with lotus blossom and leaves emerging from water, crane and a bird in flight, the alternate two sides with a cricket perched on a blade of grass beside dianthus and aster, all below a band of red stippled ground with plum blossom and bamboo leaves, the shoulders with alternating sprays of flowers and seed pods.

Height: 10.2cm. (4in.)

Condition: Frits to shoulder and one with chip to foot
