Description
Small Chinese white glazed jar (guan), 14/15th century, of globular form with short spreading neck and tubular lug handles to the shoulders, the body covered with a thick white glaze and decorated with iron brown arrowhead shapes, the unglazed foot revealing the buff stoneware body underneath
Condition: Small restored chip to interior rim.
Notes: Jars of this type were frequently exported to Southeast Asia; many similar examples have been excavated in the Philippines. For more information see Addis, J. M.
