Chinese famille verte oval fluted basin, Kangxi (1662-1722), with gilded details, the centre decorated with a pair of birds perched on flowering branches, the fluted cavetto containing a variety of flowers including peonies, chrysanthemums and cherry blossom, the rim with sprays of flower against a green seeded ground, the reverse decorated with sprays of flowers inclding peony and a stylised red swirling pattern to the rim; diameter: 11 3/8 in. (28.8 cm.), height: 10 1/8 in. (25.5 cm.); condition, fritting to rim, some wear to enamels, the footrim pierced for hanging
